Hi Gary,

I've cleaned up some of the socket library code in level-1. The socket 
error class had changed, but it wasn't reflected in most of the code, so 
errors would error out. Also, I fiddled with the conditions to make them a 
bit more useful.

Modest changes all, but it makes it more usable for me.

Should changes like this be folded back into the source tree? How do you 
like to handle this kind of thing?

>From my selfish point of view, I want to keep up with the latest and 
greatest from cvs, but would rather not have to worry about having to 
reapply my changes. Of course, it is also nice to share improvements if 
they are useful.
