I so agree. As I read it, at the moment on CLZ if you want say pure
Common Lisp plus Cocoa, you are on your own.  Clozure told me in early
09 that there would be a separation of the appropriate modules.  But
nothing's happened yet that I know of.  As it is, you have either low
level CL or the full Hemlock bolognese API, or we get our knitting
needles out to build our own.

My current dream machine would be MCLIDE + CLZ (CLOS) + Cocoa + OpenGL
(without XML) + shrinkwrap delivery tool (appgen ... to Mac, PC and
smart phone of course).  The focus being on quality application
deliverables for the open market (ie. not for s/w developers).

And the first communal task in hand would be to get onto the Cocoa
port of Fred etc.

But as all this is communal/collective effort, it's roll our sleeves
up time, and follow Terje's superb lead IMHO.  Every little bit helps.
